I had grad at 6:00 pm

Sweet.

And now for something completely different.

Err???

I wish I wasn't in honors too. But colleges like to see you taking challenging courses, so I have to cater to them. Still I stayed college prep for history, Spanish and English since I know my weaknesses, and don't want to fuck up my score.

That would have been embarrassing if you took the wrong bus home. Imagine the frustration. I one time got lost at DC in a trip. I went through my SAT vocab cards and saw my bus. But still the fear was crazy.

So basically it's all boring stuff. Don't worry - college starting date is FAR away. Besides, I bet you start in mid-September.

Guess what - I have to do college visits this summer. By the way, since you're going to college and probably did all that nonsense, what do you do when you visit colleges?

--

I'm also surprised that I have never got burned by being a lazy procrastinator. I see it happening in the future one day.

I did get my ass kicked on school when I was active on NG. I got a load of C- grades on trigonometry since I was focused on NG and not on school. Biggest mistake ever, since I would have ended up with an A for the year if I paid attention. So procrastination > NG in terms of getting a bad name.

--------

Also chillbro, funny you should say that. I don't do ANY work in school whatsoever (except for English, since I blow MAJOR ASS on research papers). And by work I mean something ridiculously large or tedious, such as sorting out stacks of paper.

I received a 99 on my honors physics final, and all my classmates received 60s and 70s. My teacher HAD to say that I got a 99 on the final. Everybody hated me because I scored better than they did (one person in the class got a 101 though). But seriously, I didn't do shit in that class - I just listened to the teacher and that's it. I didn't even study for tests, since, as I mentioned before, I'm the master of procrastination.

I also forgot to mention that I'm the king of absolute laziness. I always take the lazy way out on things.

And yet I still did better than my classmates did. And BTW they were all "gifted", so like my "theory" states, they are good at putting garbage into their head fir some time (good memory people) and spitting it out on tests.

GAH I hate this new comment limit NG has. I have a lot to write ever since I was absent.

Also I can't fall asleep until 2:00 AM (sleeping calibration fuck up) so this is a pretty late comment.

I DID take the wrong bus on the way home from my college once. I felt like an idiot cuz I almost went to Flushing. XD

Wrong. I start in late August. Good guess, tho. :P

I didn't really have to. There was this system we had, CUNY, that helped us check out the colleges w/o havin to go to em. That's how I ended up with the 1 I went to today.

A 101 compared to a 99? And no one got a 100? Lol.

Wait. YOU'RE THE KING OF LAZINESS??? YOU?!

Insomnia, huh? You're out of school, so no need to worry about that.

I was just telling Basset this and I'll tell you:

(Make sure to remember your trig for this.)

Given the 137 degree angle (unit circle) located on the second quadrant, determine its reference angle.

So to find the reference angle, since it's on the 2nd quadrant, you subtract 180 from the angle measure to get the angle it makes along the x-axis. So it's simply 180 - 137. Easy right?

Well you're wrong.

People in my class were saying 57 degrees. I called out 53 degrees, but was then overshadowed and ignored by more 57 call outs. The teacher even facepalmed after writing 53 on the board.

Even those "gifted AP students" that are praised a lot can be complete fucking retarded dumbasses. Don't kid yourself with these idiots - you're a lot smarter than you give yourself credit for.

The education system is a giant scam and fluke. Think about the many flaws it has, and you'll end up with a list bigger than a page.

Where did they get 57 from? Ugh. Ha! Teacher facepalms are the best. Always expected, but never happens. XD

Thanks. AP's got nothin on me! ^o^

Much like the Court System. I learned that after playin Ace Attorney games like Phoenix Wright and Apollo Justice.

^You're right. When the hell are we gonna need all that angle shit? I fucking suck at geography and trigonometry...

Glad I eased outta that. :P

How did Tails meet Sonic? That is something I have been wondering about fir a while.

It was in the Sega Master System version of Sonic the Hedgehog 2.

I think I'm a little late on this comment . . .

Drugs are bad, mmkay?

Oh, of course. Don't put em into the society, mmkay? :3

Wow late August. My school doesn't start until the day after labor day. Oh well, at least you get 2x more breaks than you did in high school. Thanksgiving and Spring breaks are 2 weeks and winter break is 4 weeks (for most colleges). Of course, there's a lot of work to do, but it's all worth it.

Well I have to get my ass out of the house and see some colleges. God I hate this. I bet it's boring as hell.

I don't think anybody got a 100. The curve was 11% so I got an 88 booted to 99; one guy got a 90 booted to a 101. The 101 guy, however, had an extra day to study (since he was absent on the exam week) so that (somewhat) explains the difference.

Yes I am the master of laziness. People still think I'm wrong about that though.

True, but my parents are like "WAKE UP ALREADY" so I still have to get up. Today I got up at 8 AM and wanted to play Sonic Colors (so I wouldn't fall back asleep - some stimulation) but I decided to sit in bed. It's true when they say little sleep leads to bad decisions. This scenario is a very small scale though.

Besides, you have no idea how frustrating it can be to try sleeping but fail. I was talking to Basset from 11:30 PM to 2:30 AM (3 hrs) since we both couldn't go to sleep (plus he was at the hospital with his newborn sister). And he's 1 hour ahead of us (so it's 4:43 PM in Argentina) so we both share the same problem.

---------

They got the 57 by doing 180 - 130 and then adding the 7 to the result (57). But you can't do that with subtraction.

True, but colleges still look to see if students took APs even though it's obvious they are also idiots like the normal kids are.

You have to go with the corruption/flaw to survive, or you will fail. Our system is ass backwards.

Someone's been studyin up on breaks. :P

It is. Orientation's worse.

That's 1 "odd" curve. Lol; puntime. XD

I do the same thing when I have trouble gettin up. Always have games for stimulation in the mornin. ^_^

Insomniac minds attract another, I always say. :P

That's what I was thinkin. They couldn't add 7.

Chillbro, you are absolutely right.

Also when do I have to write a stupid analytical paper about a crappy book I read if I'm going to major in science? Or a history paper? (DBQ?)

School has ruined literature for kids. It's always read a book and write a bullshit paper about it. In fact in English class you don't even learn English - you write essays all the time about the worst books the curriculum has chosen. No wonder people hate reading books nowadays. Even my history teacher, who is like 5x smarter than the average teacher in my school, says that school has ruined reading for kids.

DBQs are some of the most easiest shit in History, but long as hell.

True. Of course, we did learn about how to write a college-level essay in our Senior year English class. That helped me a lot with my Placement Tests. Saved my ass from remedial classes. -w-

BTW if you ask me, learning how to bullshit assignments should be considered a skill, especially if you do it on subjects you don't give a rats ass about (like European History or English papers).

I wrote 6 pages of horse shit on my English paper and managed to get a 91 on it. The teacher said to CITE everything, so I cited random articles and entered random page numbers. The truth is, the teacher is NOT going to make sure the quote it on the correct page, so you mind as well bullshit it. Plus spell out contractions, use large words and other page-filling techniques to reach X number of pages.

In college, however, you do the reverse - you're supposed to write papers within 2-3 pages. which is actually 10x harder than lengthening it. No professor wants to read 1,424 or so essays with each being 6 pages long. That's like 7,500 pages of crap he/she has to read. How do they have the patience for that?

They never do. Not even when I had U.S. History did my teacher do that.

By compressin the info, I'd hafta save up on writing space and info.

While I'm at the subject, English (the normal college prep level) was 100x harder than Honors Physics or Honors Pre-Calc was for me.

Wheras physics was the most challenging subject for even the smart kids. And I passed it with an A-.

Go figure.

Irony.

I barely woke up an hour ago, which is 2 something my time. Maybe SMBS was right about getting little sleep...

It helps not to stay up after 2:00 A.M.

I believe you stole my famous "Ice Cream Cone FuckerĀ®".

Err???

I'm completing a "brag sheet" so that my counselor can write a letter of recommendation. I'm stuck with the following 3 questions. Give me ideas as to how I should approach them. Or if you don't have ideas, try to write what you would have written as your response if you were given these questions (either true or made-up response). I need to get an idea as to what I should write for these questions.

2. How have you made an impact at your school community?

8. What are your personal AND scholastic strengths?

9. Why do you think you should be accepted to a particular college or university?

God I hate these questions. They are SO HARD to answer.

Not a walk in the park for me to answer, but I'll try.

2. TBH, you have to answer this yourself. Have you done any activities that have somehow affected your school?

8. Elaborate on this by explainin what your best subjects are and give some examples on how well you can understand the stuff taught. (Confusin, I know, but I can't think of anythin else.) As for personal, you hafta give somethin about yourself that categorizes YOU and only YOU. Don't say somethin like "I'm a really hard worker" or "I'm very skilled". Go into more detail and put real-life experiences that show off those strengths.

9. Another question you have to think the answer for yourself. Try givin more indiviual stuff like in the previous question, but more "in-depth".

Hope I helped.

It also helps not to stay u[ after 5 A.M....

Isn't that way past what I said?

Indeed...I learned that through experience during many summers.

???

What games do you think they should make for the XBLA?

I thin they should bring more old games, like Sonic Adventure 2 Battle.

Today's my last day of break. Now it's time to study. My parents want me to get into the University of Pennsylvania. I think it's a long shot, but at the same time it seems like a reasonable target to reach for.

Tomorrow my parents are going to Home Depot to get some stuff at 6 AM. I asked them to wake me up then, and I'll then boot up the Wii. Party time.

Not only are we insomniac but we are NG-pals that don't go to NG that much.

-----------------------------------

I have never written a DBQ since 9th grade, and I have never written a history paper since 10th grade. I got pretty lucky with my schedule regarding history.

Remedial classes will bore the living crap out of you. Good thing you escaped it.

-------------------------------

Knowing that your teacher won't verify your sources or stuff (by using common sense) can be a big time saver and reduce the workload by a lot. It's even better in college because of the large volume of work professors get.

With shorter papers, you can get straight to the point and write your essay much more easily and effectively. You don't need to write bullshit and waste time to reach the 5 page landmark. And use the opposite of all lengthening strategies, if applicable. Also remember that quality is before quantity.

Besides, another good part is less trees are killed for printing your paper for there's no need to waste paper on printing the bullshit portion of it.

---------

2. No. I guess I'll leave this blank, or write something. After all, I'm sure the counselor will decide if it should be added or taken out.

8 & 9. Good points. Thanks for the advice - it really did help. I'll finish the brag sheet when my excuses of procrastinating expire. After all, I am THE KING of LAZINESS.

Last day of break? You mean bein online? Drat.

I know, right? I was a lil uneasy with the Writing (Essay) test, but the English and Advanced Math ones were a little TOO easy to me. Eben easier than my SATs.

True dat. I doubt in college, they'd even have the time. Yet, with my schedule, I've got huge breaks by the hour. Luckily, the college I'm goin to has an Arcade Room for students with schedules like mine.

Quality over Quantity. Just like I like in mah women. XD

Save the Trees by writing less. This advertisement has been paid for by NBC. XD

2. He should if you haven't really been involved.

8 & 9. Thanks. I learned it durin English and when I had to take the Placement tests. 1 more thing: I AM THE KING, NOT YOU LOWLY PEASANT!! XPP

Well it's not my last time online. There's still access to your page through my dad's iPhone. Plus the SAT Subject Test books are electronic, so I need to get online in order to access them.

So no it's not the end. It's FAR from the end my friend.

Ever had those moments where you think something was so brilliantly and perfectly done, but when you closely scrutinize the product you see a clusterfuck full of messy errors?

Well the war map I have to make for TK101 has done that to me. I declared that I was done with the son-of-a-bitch once and for all. To make sure I was done and there's nothing retarded in there, I took a look at every pixel (slightly exaggerating, but I did perform careful examination on the map while it was magnified) and I noticed a HUGE mess of flaws that make the map FAR from complete. Fixing these errors is not easy either.

Luckily I had all 40+ versions of the map as it progressed construction, so I could fix SOME of the errors. I'm still looking for the correct map version to fix other errors. I think I have found it but I'm not certain if it's the right one.

Here's a moral lesson from this: ALWAYS SAVE VARIOUS VERSIONS OF YOUR WORK. So when you plan on hitting "Save", don't do it. Rather hit "Save as..." and name your file with "Version X.Y" where x and y represent different numbers at the end of the original file name. If I had NOT saved older versions of the map, I would have to DISCARD the WHOLE thing and redo it from scratch, and that's equal to hell. Furthermore, if you made a mistake that's so bad you can't fix it (like, you can't undo any more errors), you can go back to an older version and restart from there, rather than to entirely start over again.

This is active perfectionism at work. Hey I'll have to make something absolutely perfect for something serious one day, so I take this stupid thing as an opportunity to build stamina on perfectionism... even if it means redoing significant parts of the project. At the very least I'll be better prepared for those moments, for my tolerance level will be a lot higher. (Also never give up.)

I'll reply back to your other response later. First I want to get this fucking map out of the way. This thing has been driving me batshit insane for the past few days, and I'm going to beat it down into a pulp before IT beats ME into a pulp.

Sweet. It was depressin w/o you. ^_^;

I feel that way every time I see my SAT grades. Lol.

Always have a backup, you mean? I get it.

Tolerance is a good personalty trait, I always say. Even tho I never use it. XD

Gotcha. I just hope it's not like your old map.

You're telling me. I always think I did well on the SAT, but I ended up doing complete ass. I hate the reading section. I always get a 520 on it. My writing is not much better either.

Not only you should have a backup, but also keep copies of various versions of the file. That way if you make a big mess that's irreversible you can restart from an earlier version you saved. If you currently don't have a backup of your files, consider having one. It can be as simple as putting your files on sites like mediafire or even in your email inbox. Any backup is a backup.

Anyway, think of saving a new version as crossing a checkpoint. If you mess up beyond this point so badly, no sweat - you restart from the checkpoint. If you don't keep old versions of your file and you mess up really bad that it's not fixable, you'll have to start all the way back to the beginning of the level. I was going to write this in earlier, but the character limit is quite tight.

This advice works best on image and other delicate files. For word documents it's not as useful. But for word documents, if you delete something because you think it was shit, and you keep copies of older versions, you may find the thing you deleted (in an older version) to be golden info for the final product. Hey it can happen, especially if you worked on it while half-sleeping.

And of course, when you submit your work, you can always delete the various version files (or store them in your email inbox) so you don't waste disk space.

This system works for me. It may work for you, or it may not. Try it one time, especially if you're working on something big and/or important. You may find it helpful, or a waste of time/space. Everybody's different.

-----

It's more or less persistence than tolerance really. Yes, tolerance plays a role (able to tolerate mistakes rather than going apeshit or giving up) but persistence plays a bigger role.

It probably won't be the same as the old one. But it will take awhile to fix. I've made good progress ever since I left the other comment.

I would've been lucky to get even over 500 for the Writing section.

I might hafta consider that for my SNA files for my ROMs. Sorry. I know you're not too fond of ROMs. ^_^;

Bein persistent, A.K.A. stubborn, has always been an endearing quality of mine. :P

Really? Interesting.
