I just beat Sonic 3 and Knuckles as Hyper Sonic. Wow. I think that's one of the greatest games I've ever played. I loved the final boss. Now all that's left is to beat it as Hyper Knuckles and Super Tails.
If you wanna beat the Egg Robo as Hyper Knuckles, you gotta use Level Select. You probably knew that, tho.
And a glitch ended up occurring during Mushroom Hill Zone(the first Sonic and Knuckles zone) where no warp rings showed up and I had to start ALL the way from the beginning and get all the chaos emeralds and the one Super Emerald I had gotten again.
Also, as Knuckles, it's possible to get all the Super Emeralds during Mushroom Hill Zone.
Really? Most I got was 4 for Knuckles. I'd suggest gettin all of em b4 gettin to Sandopolis for Knuckles. There's this 1 part where he gets stuck.
I'm pretty sure you can only get Super/Hyper Sonic's final boss as Knuckles or Tails through debug mode.

I tried to get all the emeralds as fast as possible. I got all of them by the end of Flying Battery Zone. Hyper Sonic made Mecha Sonic easy. From what I see, he was mostly the same as Silver Sonic from Sonic 2. Now to fight Super Mecha Sonic as Knuckles...I'm pretty sure you can't be Hyper during that. That might prove tough.
Mostly cuz of the lack of Rings to change.

I have the S3&K ROM (and the actual game in GC). Best game I have ever played. The special stages were indeed hard, but I used the ROM's save feature to restart if I messed up.

I just beat S3&K again with Super Tails. Now I still need Hyper Knuckles. That game really makes me wonder why Tails needed Super Emeralds to become Super Tails in the early game yet in Sonic Heroes he merely needed Chaos Emeralds.
Fun Fact: Rumors say that Micheal Jackson composed the music for Sonic 3 but wasn't credited due to the sex scandals that arose at the time. It has been constantly denied and confirmed by either Sega or some of Jackson's managers.
Well technically, Super Sonic put "barriers" around Tails and Knuckles. They didn't really become "Super".

I still wonder why regular Chaos Emeralds have no effect on Tails...
SEGA must've wanted S3&K to have some more bonus material.
Oh yeah. It's possible to get all the Super Emeralds by the end of Mushroom Hill Zone with any character, not just Knuckles.
Also, I swear one of the Mecha Sonic boss fights is cut out as Tails. I think it was the one with the wrecking ball(the one similar to the first boss in the original Sonic).
Really? Must've cut that out since it was a boss battle that took place when Tails didn't even exist.
Still, if Tails is too young for the Chaos Emeralds, what makes you think he could handle Super Emeralds?
Tails is young though. According to the guide of Sonic Heroes, Sonic's 15, Knuckles is 16, and Tails is 8.

I read that in my guide, too. I think it's accurate, cuz it said the same in S3&K Guide in Sonic Mega Collection Plus.
Chillbro, you will never get true answers to those questions. You can make logical inferences, but not the correct answers.
Nevertheless, it's interesting to think about it.
