You know my parents wouldn't get me an iPod touch since it costs $200. And as you would guess, I would have to pay all $200 of it if I wanted one.

But with a little bit of critical thinking, I discovered, a crappy iPhone that my dad abandoned since 2009. I charged it, booted it up, and added music to it. Thus that iPhone is therefore my iPod. The only difference is it can't use the internet, but then again internet in the iPod sucks anyway. And it can't make calls, but that's because I didn't insert the SIM card in (and I won't, since if I accidentally go online then the phone bill will be ripped off).

But on the flip side, I don't pay shit for it. $0 was dished out, and I got almost everything an iPod has. A little planning goes a long way. And besides, if I did pay $200 for it, I wouldn't have bought the 2 TB drive.

BTW the new iPod is $220 (for 8 GB). I mean wow. I don't think I have that much cash lying around, especially after losing $40 to the hard drive. I don't want to break the CD I have and take out X dollars either.

I'll go check upstairs and see how much I have. Maybe I can make a deal with my mom to split the price, or make it 80:20. If not, it's breaking the CD, because my parents refused to get a video camera.

Also interesting to note that the old iPod, which has NO camera, cost $200 before the new one came.

Bah apparently video cameras are roughly the same as an iPod, except like $60 less.

I have to find another way to cover $80. The only possible way I see this happening is breaking a 2100 or greater on the SAT, and then ask for a difference coverage. But we know that getting a 2100 on the SAT is no easy task. I'll have to find another way to negotiate... possible including them keeping the device unless I ask for it when going outside.

I like photography and video shooting.

I ordered a copy of the May SAT (fucking $20). So when I do all 30 or so practice tests, I have to do this final test in order to obtain an accurate range of where my score will lie. I'll probably do this on September 31st, the day before the October SAT. If I don't get an iPod with a good SAT score, I'll FORCE them to get me one if I somehow get admitted to the University of Pennsylvania.

My practice tests say my writing is 740, which I think is horribly skewed (I got 590 on the actual SAT). My math is also 740, which I find accurate since I got a 710 on the real SAT.

Lastly, for reading, it said I got 530 on the 1st practice test, which is correct. Now after 6 practice tests, it says 630... a number I'm skeptical to accept.

Adding 740 + 710 + 600 (numbers skewed to portray what I actually get) is 2050.

50 more points. And those 50 aren't easy either.

THIS JUST IN: My parents agreed to get me the new iPod (8 GB) FOR FULL PRICE (so I pay nothing) if I break a 2,200 on the SAT.

The trick is to get a fucking 2,200. The reading section of the SAT is my biggest weakness, and it's a struggle to get the 630 that I have. Ideally, the best ratio to get a 2,200 is 700:750:750 with reading:math:writing, respectively. Reading is hard shit, and 750 on math/writing is a slightly more difficult to overcome, but still possible for me.

You're right - I have to focus on the essay. I always get a damn 8 on it. If I get a 10 on it, then my writing score would be around 760. Every point counts.

I agree they are being excessive, but the higher the SAT score, the more colleges that are open for acceptance. To be honest, the real reason why I asked for the award is so that i will be motivated to get the 2200. Lately I have slacked off on the SAT since it's so fucking boring to study for it (I bet you know that already).

With something materialistic to grab when I reach a target score, I can be better motivated and actually concentrate as if my life depended on it. I don't take too many videos, especially when school starts, so there's not that much pressure, but still a free iPod with no payment is no joke.

If I manage to fall short on 2200 and get a 2100 or even 2000, since they want me to get a 2000 initially, I'll twist the deal around and split the price. So they pay $110 and I pay $110. It's better than not getting it at all, and I still don't pay full price.

The worst case is I buy the thing myself at full price if I fail. Tomorrow, I'm hitting the basement with the books, and I'm not coming out until 6:00 PM or until I finish the required work - no ifs, nors or buts! Time to take studying and seriousness to level 2, or in chillbro's terms, level 9001.

If I come on NG and comment on your page, you better tell me to get my ass back into the basement.

I'm writing this down so when I scan through your news posts before test day I'll see this:

I'm bringing 6 energy drinks and a big fat Hershey's bar (the 1 LB one) to the test. Time to get a sugar rush and rock the test. The 1st drink will be gulped before the essay comes. 2-3 drinks will be consumed during the first 2 breaks. At the last break, the one before the 4 sections at once (7, 8, 9, 10), I'll chug the remaining energy drinks. I plan on putting 2 pieces of chocolate in my mouth right before the break ends, so I have some "fuel" to last during the section after the break.

Speaking of sugar rush, I need to try that experiment. Given one section (no time limit yet) and a bowl of sugar, how much better (or worse) do I do on that section? I'll let you know the results tomorrow.

I bet you think I'm crazy. Competition out there is tough. When things get tough, you better get tougher!
